Name: Paolo Magrassi Country: Italy Email (optional): pmagrassi@hotmail.com Comments: I was truly lucky to choose Adventure Cambodia as our tour organizer in our excursions in Dec. 2009. You brought my friend Pilar and myself to explore exactly what we had imagined. It was a beautiful, unforgettable trip in PP, the Ratanakiri jungle, the Mekong, and we came also to know better the beautiful lovely cambodian people. We were after nature at its best, tranquility, and surely some physical challenge, and we got them all. Everything was perfectly organized, and, as we asked, you left space to our needs and improvisations throughout the trip. The elasticity you allowed in deciding our programs " on the spot " was a major issue in the success of these unforgettable 11 days together. Your personal inputs and knowledge of the territory were also critical in optimizing our Cambodian paths. I will refer to you all those friends of mine willing to enterprise a great real adventure with a trustable agent and companion. You can, if you wish, give my email to those who may be interested in knowing the " client point of view " related to some peculiar parts of this trip and territory. Incidentally : I am a 65 years old Italian medical doctor. The trip was not a minor challenge in some jungle days considering my age , but it was worth it !!! I wish to you and your beautiful family , which we had the chance to share with part of the trip, and of course Adventure Cambodia, the best luck, which you deserve. Thank you again , Luke ! Most sincerely, PAOLO MAGRASSI, M.D. Photos: Flooded Forest Kayaking Nature Lodge Ratanakiri Trekking Mekong River
Name: Tore Stabell Country: Norway Comments: I had the pleasure of using Adventure Cambodia guiding me through wonderful Cambodia. From the moment I was picked up by a private driver in Siem Reap and taken the long way to the small town of Stung Treng in north eastern Cambodia, until I was sitting in the air-con private car going all the way from Sihanoukville to the airport in Phnom Penh for my departure home, I felt totally taken care of. Make no mistake about it, Luke knows Cambodia much better than the average local people you might meet. One could think that only by meeting and making friends among the Khmer people, you would really learn about the cambodian people, their lives and how things really work. Wrong. Unfortunately, the local people often have limited ways of getting to know the "world" outside their village or town. Most cambodian have never been out of the country, and surprisingly many have never visited the capitol or the ruins of Angkor Wat. Luke followed me, in the hottest of the hottest conditions, suggesting back roads not many tourist travel on, telling stories about passing pagodas, temples, trees, plants, corrupt police, agricultular problems, season changes around the Mekong, school system, poor people, the few rich people, the slash-and-burn problem in the forests, the development Cambodia has gone through the last years, and so on. He speaks dissapointingly good Khmer, in that I mean I had hoped to see more people reacting like "you speak Khmer increadibly good, how on earth did you manage that", but instead people just react like talking to a local person. I cannot stress enough how impressive it is to have a guide that can say to a bicycle repair shop man: " Do you have a road bike tube with a presta valve, and some thin summer-type oil for the rear cassette, please"? He knows about every little difference between the so called western world and this far east, forgotten country. He lives here, has his family here, and can tell you everything there is to know about this fascinating country. I wouldn't think twice when it comes to a guide in Cambodia.
